Pearl and Poppy

So today I was sitting at home doing nothing because for some reason I didn't have school. I could have done homework, but am I really going to do that on a Friday? No. I was getting pretty hungry, so I looked in my pantry and saw some Ghirardelli brownie mix! Then while I was looking for vegetable oil, I found a pack of Oreos and an idea struck me! OREO BROWNIES!! I'm probably not the first to come up with this idea, but either way I was convinced they would taste fantastic.

This is the brownie mix I used with just regular Oreos.

Ghirardelli brownies taste fantastic on their own, but who doesn't love a little extra something... especially if that something is Oreos! The first thing you have to do is preheat your oven to 325 degrees. Then make the brownie mix the way it tells you on the box. When you are ready to put the mix into an 8x8 inch pan, only pour half of it in or enough to just cover the bottom of the pan. Then set in full Oreos on top of the batter. I only put 9 Oreos so that there would be one in every brownie square. Cover the Oreos with the rest of the batter and put the pan in the oven for the amount of time it says on the box. I put mine in for 45 minutes.

Guys, it's been a long week, and I think I really need a spa day... said me a couple days ago when I was literally so tired I could hardly walk. So what did I do? Got my favorite snacks, some bubble bath, and a few candles and turned my bathroom into a getaway spa.


 Want to follow in my footsteps? Get on your most comfy bathrobe and twist your hair into a knot because this will be the most relaxing day you've had in a while.

Start out with the bath. Get a really nice bottle of bubblebath (or make your own using the recipe here like I did) because it will make the experience 10 times better. Or if you want to go the more scented, colorful route, get a bath bomb from Lush! Those are always super fun because they're fizzy and they have oils in them that make your skin feel super smooth.

Next, get your snacks. I decided to go with some substantial and healthy(ish) snacks, so I got my favorite cheese, some crackers, pistachios, grapes, and to add something sweet, some mini marshmallows. I paired this with a nice glass of grape juice (and no, it wasn't wine thank you very much) and soaked away while nibbling on crackers and cheese!

After my bath, I felt relaxed and ready to start my week. All my stress had gone down the drain!

A week ago, my friends and I were listening to the radio when it was announced that JoJo is coming to our area to perform a concert. I am personally a HUGE fan of live music and concerts, and so I was all for going. First I decided that maybe it would be a good idea to listen to some of her songs first. I was happy to find out that her music is actually good quality. I would classify the genre as like... edgy pop? I'm not really sure. It's good music though!

 

 

With this being a holiday weekend, I decided to plan a fun sleepover with my best friend, Hannah. I hadn't seen her in a while because we go to different schools now, but it felt as if no time had passed since our last visit. We did pretty basic sleepover things, but honestly that's the best way to have it.

CHICK FLICKS We chose some classic Nicholas Sparks movies because we were up for a good cry. Usually I like to watch comedy movies (especially romcoms!) but these are two of my favorite romantic movies, and they're always good if you need to have a catharsis and cry at all of your feelings lol

SNACKS Snacks are maybe the most important part of the whole night, and who could go wrong with a giant cookie that you bake in a skillet? The answer is no one. This cookie is actual heaven (even though we burned ours a bit) and top it off with some ice cream? True. Love. Sorry Nicholas Sparks but even you couldn't write a novel that accurately describes my love of cookies, just saying. Here is the link for the cookie recipe!

FACE MASKS AND NAIL POLISH Sadly, we didn't take any great mud mask pictures, but the mask didn't really show up on our faces because it was pretty light, so we decided not to. This mask felt super good and left our faces so smooth. We accidentally left it on for way longer than we were supposed to, but my face isn't completely breaking out or anything which is always a good sign! Photocreds I'd show you a picture of my nails but I accidentally dropped the bottle and spilled polish all over my hand (oops). Then I didn't really feel like redoing my nails because that is just such a struggle.

This pretty bangle was the first thing to catch my eye while I was shopping. It's a perfect mixture of gold and pearls, and would look really elegant with any outfit!

The second thing that I fell in love with was this whale print. It is just so adorable! This particular bag would be really useful for anything!

I don't know about you guys, but here in California we've been getting more rain than we have in over 5 years! I had to go out and buy new rainbows the other day, and what better item to pair with them than this umbrella? The rose print is actually one of my favorite Kate Spade prints of all time (it's even my computer background!)

The texture on this radiant red clutch is what really got my attention. I think that the little bumps add a bit of fun to the clutch and make it unique! Also, this clutch could go from being casual during the day to a nice accessory to that little black dress that you would wear to dinner!

Navy blue... Stripes... Fit and flare... What more could a prepster want? This dress is absolutely adorable! Perfect for that fancy sailing party... or just an elegant walk in the park! Match it with the pearl bangle, and you mightjust become the best dressed person on the planet!
